Hectare construction specializes in building composite structure systems that combine precast concrete and steel. The company is active across Quebec and Ontario. It is also a distributor of Stubbe’s precast concrete products in Quebec and serves as contractor for residential real estate projects carried out by its sister company, Hectare Immobilier.
Hectare is looking to hire a financial controller to oversee the accounting activities and finances of the organization and its affiliated companies. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, versatile, and will be able to help the company grow.
Main responsibilities
- Produce financial statements for various business units.
- Prepare budget forecasts and monitor the costs of projects in collaboration with project managers.
- Produce financial assessments.
- Manage and forecast cash flow.
- Manage the complete accounting cycle.
- Produce invoices and issue monthly payment requests.
- Process accounts payables and follow up on releases and disclosures.
- Oversee payroll (CCQ).
- Carry out or oversee banking and financial operations.
- Carry out other tasks related to administration, accounting, and finances.
- Manage government remittances.
- Prepare end-of-year files.
Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finances or equivalent (for example: accounting technician with experience).
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar position.
- Experience in the construction sector (an asset).
- Organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to work as a team.
- Rigour and meticulousness.
- Knowledge of Acomba (Construction Suite) and Hopem.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
